Twenty-plus machines, open 6am to 11pm every day of the year. Most people are in and out in about an hour.
What it’s like
It’s a working laundry, not a waiting room — but it’s clean, bright and air-conditioned, and there’s somewhere to sit. Washers run down one side, dryers stack up the other, and there are long steel tables down the middle for folding.
We’re a self-service coin laundry in the old sense — you do the washing yourself — and the machines still take coins, with a change machine for notes. You can also pay at the kiosk by card or phone, so you can turn up with nothing in your pockets and still get a load done. It’s the same shop we wash our pick-up and delivery loads in, and it gets cleaned and disinfected every night for the same reason.

The machines
Washers come in three sizes, and the dryers are numbered 9–22. Pick the size that fits your load rather than splitting it — one bigger wash is cheaper and faster than two small ones.

Prices last checked August 2026. 3 small (5kg), 3 medium (8kg), 2 extra large (14kg). Wash cycle time depends on how much you load into the machine, so we can’t give a fixed number — the kiosk shows the estimate for your load once you start.
What fits in each washer
- Small (5kg) — one full laundry basket: a few days of clothes for one person, or a week of gym gear.
- Medium (8kg) — a packed kitchen-tidy bag: a week of clothes for a couple, or a set of towels and a couple of sheets.
- Extra large (14kg) — the big stuff: a doona, a couple of blankets, a family’s bedding change, or three baskets in one go.
Capacity is dry weight, and clothes need room to move. If you have to push the door shut, go up a size — a jammed drum comes out half-washed and takes twice as long to dry.
Doonas and blankets
The extra large washer is the one for a doona. Most machines at home can’t take a queen or king doona at all, which is the single most common reason people come in. Use the extra large dryer afterwards, empty it, shake it out and give it another burst if the filling still feels damp in the middle — a wet doona is heavier than it looks, and the dryer clock is the cheapest part of the visit.
Dryers
Dryers are sold by time, not by cycle. A dollar buys eight minutes of heat in a medium dryer and six in an extra large. You put in what you need: a small load of shirts might be done for $2, a full basket of towels will want $4 or so, and you can always add another dollar without opening the door. Paying
Coins go straight into the machines, and the change machine swaps notes for coins. Prefer to tap? Use the kiosk on the wall — card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — or skip the kiosk queue and pay from your own phone once you’re in the shop.

Happy Hour — 50% off, 7pm–9pm Tuesday & Wednesday
Happy Hour is the cheapest time to wash all week: every washer and dryer started in that window is half price when you enter the promo code at the kiosk. It’s also the quietest time, so you’ll get your pick of the extra large machines.
Washing late at night
Doors are open 6am to 11pm, every day — and the evening is the shop at its best: machines free, parking easy, the folding tables to yourself. If you’re starting a load from scratch, walk in by about 9:30pm; most visits take about an hour, which leaves margin for a doona that wants one more burst in the dryer.
On Tuesday and Wednesday nights that late wash is also the cheapest of the week — Happy Hour is 50% off, 7pm–9pm Tuesday & Wednesday.
